The Darcys’ First Christmas: The Disappearance

Elizabeth Darcy from Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” is thrilled to see her sister Jane again as the two prepare to spend their first Christmas with their new husbands in London. But when distressing news arrives from their family at Longbourn, it overthrows their plans. Fearing the worst, Elizabeth is forced to relive the shame of her sister Lydia’s elopement. She worries that this new proof of her family’s folly, and the reminder that Wickham now holds a permanent place in their lives, will test Darcy’s attachment to her. Can their love endure this new challenge? Or will their first Christmas together be their last?

This “Pride and Prejudice” variation is a clean and wholesome Regency romance. It has a happy ending and no cliffhanger.
