Lockdown in Louisiana: Romance author Kitty Paris shares her life.

“I believe this is a special time and we each are being asked to do whatever it is we are best at. You are part of a whole, and by keeping your own vibe high, you are doing your part to heal the world right now. Don’t be afraid to be a little self-indulgent, either. Smile even when you don’t feel like smiling, even if you have nobody to smile at – it’ll trick your brain into feeling good!”

Big thanks to Kitty Paris, romance author from Louisiana, for sharing her lockdown experiences with us… and also we’re sending you guys a big congratulations on your 6th Anniversary! Hope you have a lovely time together.

“I’m in lockdown with my partner (about to celebrate our 6 year anniversary!) and our two cats.

My partner was laid off from his job as a cook in a fine-dining restaurant, which means that now he’s free to let his food creativity roam free in OUR kitchen. I hate cooking, so with him home every night, I’ve been eating like a queen. The dishes are my job, of course, but it’s so worth it! I’ve also discovered yoga apps, which I LOVE and I plan to keep using even after my yoga studio re-opens. It’s so nice to have any class I want, whenever I want. I’ve been doing 30 mins every morning, and sometimes a restorative class at night before bed, while wearing my pajamas. I’m into it!

Sitting outside my home and watching nature has really given me perspective . The birds, the bumblebees, the caterpillars- they’re all still out there doing their thing, and they remind me that the world isn’t falling apart after all. Our human dramas are just a small part of the whole, and there is plenty of stuff that still works, despite our own problems. I’ve also been completely ignoring the news. I know it’s bad out there right now, and being reminded just HOW bad it is every time I look up was causing me to feel panicky, so I had to choose sanity and turn it off.

I’ve still been making time to read. It’s a great escape and have a great recommendation for you guys: I’ve been devouring Jessa Kane’s entire catalog! Definitely check them out.

The advice and tips I would share with other is that I believe this is a special time and we each are being asked to do whatever it is we are best at. You are part of a whole, and by keeping your own vibe high, you are doing your part to heal the world right now. Don’t be afraid to be a little self-indulgent, either. Smile even when you don’t feel like smiling, even if you have nobody to smile at – it’ll trick your brain into feeling good! Oh, and get into the sunshine whenever possible! And…maybe adopt a pet? Just think about it. (Ok, ok I’ll stop now.)

Kitty’s favorite “creative spot” at home. Included are her two cats, dozing peacefully.

I write from a daybed. Yes, it’s terrible for my posture but I can’t get creative when sitting like a civilized human. I just started writing the Hot Rods Garage series, which is about four bad boy ex-convicts who are totally hot and complicated. The first book, Tor has just come out!”

About Kitty

Kitty Paris writes stories that are short, sweet and SPICY. Her heroine’s are always big, beautiful women who are feisty, independent, and unstoppable. Of course, no romance story is complete without a strong, ALPHA HUNK who can’t live without her, and will do anything to keep a smile on his queen’s face. Expect a HAPPILY EVER AFTER ending, and plenty of yummy insta-love spice to keep the pages burning and turning.

When Kitty isn’t writing, she spends her free time poking around at used book stores, collecting houseplants, and pretending she is good at cooking (she isn’t).

All of Kitty’s books are “HIGH HEAT”, so if you’re more into fade-to-black love scenes, stop right now, because you won’t find those here 😉
