What’s the only Christmas surprise better than a prince in disguise? Two of them.

The town of Yuletide, Maine is a winter wonderland, full of Christmas-themed shops, light displays, and cookie baking contests… plus a criminal money laundering front. Prince Alaister of the Kingdom of Alstadia is here to investigate. Which becomes difficult when he meets Ama, a handsome commoner visiting the town…or so he thinks.

But Ama is not a tourist on a Christmas vacation. He is Prince Jean-Michel Amadou Musa Des Rois, younger brother to the King of Port des Rois. Like Alaister, Amadou has come to Yuletide following threads of corruption.

Both men are clever in their investigations, but their efforts thwart each other in a comedy of errors as their identities get tangled and their intentions get steamy.

It will take a Christmas miracle to untangle this royal ruse!

A MM holiday romantic comedy.

What the Reviews Say

It’s refreshing to find an LGBTQ romantic mystery. I highly recommend this novel for anyone who grew up immersed in classic cozy mystery writers like Agatha Christie, but who wanted a little more love along the way. 5 stars. Awesome read!

One of the sweetest LGBT romances I have ever read. The fact that it’s a Christmas romance makes it that much better.

I love mysteries, and I’m a sap for a touching Holiday romance, so A Royal Ruse did not let me down! Although I did not read the first stories in the series, I was able to quickly pick up on the characters’ backstories and idiosyncrasies within the first chapter, and followed along with the prince’s story very smoothly.

I found this book heartwarming, very romantic, and definitely Christmassy.

First of all Alaister and Ama are adorable together to the point of me having heart eyes reading every scene they had together. The side characters and the relationship they had with their families was so relatable.
