My best friend’s brother has always been a pain.
He’s bossy, full of himself, and demanding.
I’d rather be anywhere but in a room with him.
But for Doug, I’ll do just about anything,
Even if that means interviewing the new mayor,
And helping him with the annual Fourth of July celebration.
Long hours of working together make me see Gavin in a new light,
And soon I’m questioning everything I’ve ever thought about him.
Is it that I really can’t stand him?
Or can I not stand how he makes me feel when I’m around him?
All I know for sure is there will definitely be fireworks this Fourth of July.
